How to copy it

  1. Pair a methods expert with someone who builds product: pay for one session first, then pitch the idea

If you build product, find an expert in your niche who teaches their method publicly, sells paid consulting and has commenters asking "is there a tool for this". Pay for one session, apply the method to your own project, and once the numbers move, propose turning the method into a product: they own the method, you own the product. If you're the expert, do the reverse and look among paying clients for someone who builds. What the founder did: he paid for one coaching session with the consultant, his site's traffic jumped, and months later he pitched the product and they partnered (X post by @NicholasDulait ↗).

    Original page 1 ↗Author post 2 ↗

A table of candidate experts (link, method content count, screenshot of commenters asking for a tool, paid consulting or not); one paid session taken, with what you changed and the before/after numbers; a signed partnership agreement stating the split and who owns method and product.
The expert agrees in writing to partner and to walk you through their method on record.
I'm a <developer / expert in your niche> looking for a partner to turn a method in <your niche> into a product. Below are candidate experts: link, how much method content they publish, whether commenters ask for a tool, whether they sell paid consulting, and what I changed after a session with one of them plus before/after numbers. Please: 1) check each candidate against these points; 2) write the one I consulted an English email under 150 words: first what I changed with their method and the numbers (only mine), then propose turning the method into a product that tells users what to do next from their own data, with them on method and me on product, split to discuss; 3) promise no income. Material: <paste>
  2. Write the expert's "what to do first" judgment as a set of rules with explicit conditions

Have the expert talk through how they read client data to decide what to fix first and how, and write each judgment as "if the data meets X, do Y", with X using only fields you can actually get. Then, with client consent, backtest on a few real data sets and have the expert mark whether each top action is what they'd do first. What the founder did: the product's pitch is that its AI follows the consultant's own method (chatseo.app About ↗).

    Original page ↗

A rules document where each rule has a data condition and an action; a backtest table where the expert marks each top action "agree" or "disagree".
After reviewing the backtest, the expert confirms the rule-ranked actions largely match what they advised these clients by hand.
An expert in <your niche> and I are building a product that reads a user's <data source> and tells them, in order, what to do next using the expert's method. Below is a transcript of the expert explaining their method and one client's real data export. Please: 1) turn the transcript into rules of the form "if <condition using only fields in the export>, do <specific action>", using only numbers the expert said and writing "expert to set" otherwise; 2) run the rules on the export and list the top 3 actions, each with its target, the rule hit and the numbers relied on; 3) list separately any method in the transcript this data can't support. Transcript: <paste>; export: <paste>
    • Step 2: in the performance report, export a client site's last 3 months by query and page to backtest the rules.

  3. Build the product: read-only access to the user's data, ranking the top 3 actions by the rules

Build the minimum sellable version doing one thing: the user grants read-only access to their data, the product pulls it, ranks 3 actions with the step 2 rules and states what to change and which number it relies on. Hard-code the rule logic and let the LLM only phrase matched rules in plain language, never adding actions. What the founder did: the product reads users' real Google Search Console data and tells them exactly what to do next, in order (chatseo.app About ↗).

    Original page ↗

A working URL: a fresh account authorizes and gets 3 actions, each with data behind it; the backtest data sets reproduce the backtest table.
The expert tries it on one of their own clients and confirms all 3 actions are ones they'd give, with nothing invented.
Write me a minimal product backend: 1) request read-only OAuth access to <data source> and list the user's projects; 2) pull the last 90 days of data; 3) implement the rules below as pure functions: data in, matches out (rule number, target, numbers relied on), top 3 by priority; 4) pass only those 3 results to an LLM API to write an English explanation under 80 words each, adding no advice outside the rules; 5) read secrets from environment variables. Follow official API docs and flag anything uncertain for me to check. Rules: <paste step 2 rules>
    • Step 3: after the user grants read-only access, call searchanalytics.query to pull the last 90 days of query and page data; ChatSEO's site says it reads the user's real Search Console data.

      Original page ↗

    • Step 3: only turns the 3 matched actions into plain-language explanations.

  4. Find the kind of target user most likely to pay and give them a free report

First work out who is most likely to pay: people who solve this for their own clients and can use your report to win business. Send a small batch one DM or email each with one offer: connect your product read-only and get a free, ordered list of 3 opportunities. Don't quote a price. What the founder did: he copied a user who won clients by sending free audit reports (X post by @NicholasDulait ↗), and found web designers paid the most (X post by @NicholasDulait ↗).

    Author post 1 ↗Author post 2 ↗

A batch of sent DMs or emails (recipient, URL, date); some recipients connected the product and got a report.
Someone who got a report replies asking the price or whether it works for more clients.
I sell a product that reads a user's <data source> and ranks the 3 actions to do first using an expert method in <your niche>. Below are profiles of <your target users>: name, URL, the clients they serve, their latest public post. Write each an English DM under 90 words: 1) open with a specific line from their post; 2) say connecting read-only gets them a free ordered list of 3 opportunities, each with what to change and why; 3) say they can use the report directly in a proposal to their clients; 4) no price, no promised results. Profiles: <paste>
    • Step 4: find each web designer's portfolio site from their LinkedIn profile; Paul says ChatSEO's outreach uses Phantom Buster to find the prospect's site.

      Author post ↗

    • Step 4: write a personalised message from each person's post and portfolio; Paul says ChatSEO's outreach messages are drafted by Claude.

  5. Create a monthly subscription payment link in Stripe with a card-up-front free trial

On Stripe's Payment Links page, create a monthly subscription product with a trial period in the link settings (card collected at checkout, charged when the trial ends), give trial accounts a small allowance in the product, and put the link at the end of the report. You set the price. What the founder did: paid plans start with a 7-day trial charged on day 7 (chatseo.app About ↗), with payments through Stripe (chatseo.app pricing ↗).

    Original page 1 ↗Author post 2 ↗

The payment link opens and shows the trial length and the monthly price after it; trial accounts have an allowance; the link is at the end of the report.
Pay once in Stripe's test environment: the subscription is trialing and the first charge date is when the trial ends.
I sell a product that gives next steps using an expert method in <your niche>. The first plan is $<price>/month with a <N>-day card-up-front trial (charged when it ends, cancel before), with <credits> trial credits. Write: 1) the Stripe product name and a one-line description stating credits and how many projects can connect; 2) under 60 words for the end of the report: the 3 opportunities can be explored further in the product, the trial length, credits and when the charge happens; 3) one FAQ line on why the trial takes a card. Use only my numbers.
    • Step 5: on the Payment Links page, create a EUR 29/month subscription link with a 7-day trial period (ChatSEO's trial is "7 days + 30 credits"; the credits are given in the product); TrustMRR shows ChatSEO's revenue verified through the Stripe API, and ChatSEO's pricing page says payments go through Stripe.

      Original page 1 ↗Original page 2 ↗

  6. Get your first revenue: the charge succeeds after the trial

For people who started a trial from the report, send one email mid-trial asking only which of the 3 actions they acted on and which number to watch afterwards, then watch your Stripe subscriptions for the automatic charge when the trial ends. What the founder did: his Stripe-verified revenue is public on TrustMRR (TrustMRR ↗).

    Original page ↗

Stripe shows the first successful post-trial charge (not test mode).
The user keeps using the product after the charge rather than having forgotten to cancel.
I sell a product that gives next steps using an expert method in <your niche>. One of <your target users> started a trial from the report and will be charged $<price> when it ends. Below are the 3 actions the product ranked for them and the messages they sent during the trial. Write an English mid-trial follow-up under 100 words: 1) ask only which of the 3 actions they acted on; 2) say which number to watch afterwards (what to watch, no promised gains); 3) remind them the charge starts when the trial ends and they can cancel before. Material: <paste>
    • Step 6: in the subscriptions list, watch trialing users and their charge dates, and confirm the first EUR 29 charge succeeds; TrustMRR shows ChatSEO's revenue verified through the Stripe API.
